The Ragnarök Tall SPD is a MTB winter shoe with breathable and waterproof properties that offers both protection and robustness, optimal fit and secure support.
Technical design and effective use of materials: the Ragnarök Tall SPD MTB Winter Shoe by 45NRTH
When it comes to cycling in cold winter conditions, a reliable and warming shoe is especially important. Based in Minnesota, the experts at 45NRTH are faced with extreme winter climates, allowing them to incorporate their needs and real-world experience into the development of their products.
One of those products is the Ragnarök Tall, a waterproof, SPD-compatible click boot with a neoprene shaft for transitional mountain biking. The microfiber outer material is both breathable and water-repellent. At the same time, the toe and heel area is equipped with especially abrasion-resistant Tec Tuff material. Further protection and optimal fit provides the high neoprene shaft. Furthermore, the shoe has a side-mounted BOA® Li2 quick lacing system via 3 tabs, which allows a millimeter-precise fit.
A fiberglass-reinforced, impact-resistant nylon midsole gives the shoe its robustness without compromising comfort. The non-slip, profiled rubber sole features Microglas lug inserts and allows for a secure grip at all times. Thanks to a reflective insert in the heel area, your visibility is significantly increased in unfavourable light conditions. The 45NRTH experts recommend an operating range of -3° Celsius to approx. +7° Celsius for the Ragnarök Tall.

Technology
Waterproof-breathable membrane
An ultra-thin film of microporous material keeps the textile shells dry and warm in the harshest weather conditions. The liquid water molecules on the outside of the garment are larger than the vapor molecules on the inside. The microscopic pores are smaller than liquid water molecules, but larger than vapor molecules. As a result, the waterproof and breathable membrane stops the liquid from the outside, but the vapor from the inside can escape for effective heat and moisture regulation.
